The Friday Five - Food, Glorious Food

1. What is your favorite food? Spaghetti and meat sauce.
2. What was your favorite food when you were a kid? Spaghetti and meat sauce.
3. What is the best tasting, quick to cook meal that you make for yourself? Spaghetti and meat sauce.
4. What is your favorite food to order in a restaurant? Often, some variant of pasta (but not spaghetti and meat sauce, because I get plenty of that at home).
5. If you could go anywhere in the world to any restaurant, what would you order for yourself? I have no particular favourites. I love to travel and really enjoy whatever is local, traditional, and very typical of the community. That means I eat lots of variants on pastas, rice, and beans. The surroundings are usually not very fancy, but the food is often delicious and the experience is amazing.

There's a group or a link called thefridayfive, I think. I get a notice from them every Friday with the question of the week. I saw your answers - yum. One of my favourite children's books is "More Spaghetti I Say!". I first saw it as an adult; it amused me way more than it amused either of the kids. I still have my copy.

I'll take a look for it. I was pleasantly surprised to list those Ukrainian foods as my favourites - they really were. I thought I would have more of other foods that other kids liked but if I had a plate of spaghetti and a plate of cabbage rolls or pyrohy to choose from well the cabbage rolls would have won hands down.

I would also like to read your book sometime when I come over - blame Diverse_Arts for that one. I looked at the 2016 book lists and did a combo of three different ones. A children's book is on the list - I don't have any here that I haven't read.

I think I spotted a link to a pdf when I googled to make sure I had the name right. Definitely come read children's books. I still have many.

I tried making cabbage rolls this week. I'm terrible at the rolling part, but they taste good.

There's a trick to it to get it to stay together - it's a bit of a tug and squeeze at the beginning of the roll. I'll show you the motion (if we both remember) next time I see you.

I think I needed much bigger leaves, too. I was using a small, end-of-season cabbage. Definitely would welcome the help, though.

LOL. I can definitely help you there as well. Next time I am going to make cabbage rolls I will invite you over to join in the fun.
