Life Without Plastic - Day Two

I have just finished reheating my lunch in a plastic container. This is stupid. I purposely bought a bowl and a plate for the office, so I could avoid heating my lunches in plastic containers. Plastic containers are very useful. They are light and sufficiently inexpensive that I can own enough to pitch them into the dishwasher rather than washing up immediately to pack tomorrow's lunch. Comparable containers range from $20-$30, and weigh almost a pound each. Some day, when I am rich, it would be lovely to have a huge collection of these: http://www.lifewithoutplastic.com/store/ca/lunchbots-bento-uno-large-container.html.

In the meantime, I resolve to transfer my lunch to a plate or bowl before reheating it, every day for the rest of the month.

Is not heating your food in the plastic container part of the month?

It wasn't going to be, but it seems like a good habit to get into while I'm thinking about not using plastic. The stuff is supposed to be microwave-safe, but the proximity of my fear-mongering colleagues outweighs the assurances of scientists I have never met.

Ah yes, the fear-mongering colleagues. I have a number of those as well. The big thing around here is sitting.

Did you know that you are 94% more likely to die if you sit down ever? We must all stand or lie down only and we'll live forever!

If we stand or lie down only, we can add the bonus of perfect posture and amazing abs to our living forever! Mind you, I use the "sitting is the new smoking" to force myself out of my chair regularly - but I have been getting treatment for varicose veins for over 20 years so it is partly true in my case. So far, no improvement for my abs, though :(.
