Where do the weeks go?
Oct. 30th, 2015 09:51 pmWork continues to be insane. I squeezed in two riding lessons, a belly dance class and a ballet class since I last posted. Also, I tracked down Pandora, who somehow escaped from the house just in time for international cat day, and returned the morning after it ended. It meant a couple of sleepless nights for me, but Gatita (my other cat) seemed delighted. She ate more than she has in ages.
My daughter had dance rounds today so I took the day off. She had to be at school for 7 am for rehearsals. I went back just before 1 pm to see the six dances. They were all quite good, though of course I thought the one she choreographed was best, and the one she danced in was second-best. I was impressed that she went out on stage, without notes, and presented her dance piece - talking about her intent, the costuming, lighting, and all her thank-you's. She was the only choreographer to do that. I wouldn't have hesitated to do that at her age, but she is not much of a word person.
In between all the driving and dance stuff today, I managed to clean up most of my front garden. I have a good sized back of Jerusalem artichokes and horseradish, plus 5 full yard waste bags. I still have a bit of pruning, and need to put in the bulbs. Then there is the back yard - mostly pruning the raspberry canes and cutting back the hostas, but it will take a few more hours. It's really making me wish I had had a nap before taking the girl to her midnight showing of Rocky Horror (and picking her up afterwards), but a few hours wasted playing solitaire and catching up on news has been very pleasant.
I have managed to read all the updates everyone posted during the week; hopefully I'll have time over the weekend to go back and comment.
In the meantime - have a great night everyone!
