I'm trying to catch up on cleaning and I keep getting sidetracked. There is so much I want to do, but today I just can't break it into manageable chunks and actually finish something (anything!).
How do you do your cleaning?

I do my cleaning during the week so I have the weekend to myself.  :)

I try to do that, but somehow I have no energy after work. Early morning is best for me but I want to start swimming before work, so I'll have to rethink my cleaning.

I get most of my energy in the afternoon. Swimming is fun.

PS... dont forget to add me to your list here.

I tend to be polyphasic when I clean, a little here, then there, back to the first and over to something else. Somehow it all gets done, though. :D

Polyphasic sounds so much better than "random".

*grin* It's all about word choice! :D

I try to clean room by room and I have a list created to remind myself which room to clean on which day of the week. Sometimes this works well and other times it fails because I get distracted. At least it gives me a starting point to work from!

Ooh that's organized! My daughter likes to work that way - usually she doesn't get much past making the list, though.

I often clean according to a timer. I will work one room at a time for say 15, 30, or 60 minutes and move on.

Ooh a variation on the Pomodoro method. I like it!

I had to Google what that was. I got the timer thing from Fly Lady (a getting your house organized site.) Her point was that we get overwhelmed by a task and give up. Pick the messiest room of your house, clean it for 15 minutes a day and eventually it will be clean.

I've also had to use this at work with projects I can't get motivated to do (or can't find the time to do.) I will work on it 1 hour a day until it is done. And it only sucks up 1 hour of my daily work too.
